Waikato Action Tours Ltd
Feeling hungry, feel like having a unique experience, then how about taking a cruise on the Karapiro Cruiser for lunch. You will not be disappointed, the moment you step foot on the boat you'll feel the warmth and be seduced by the smells of the barbeque meats cooking.
Buy yourself a drink of your choice from the bar to sip on while you cruise the 11 kms towards Arapuni Dam on calm water taking in the surroundings.
Cruise over the top of the first ever Hydro dam built in the North Island (the Horahora dam, built in 1913) that is only 2 - 3 meters beneath the surface. Pass by the mouth of the Pokiawhenua Stream that leads up into a gorge that is extremely popular for viewing glowworms and very good trout fishing destination with the locals. Cruise past the children from the Finlay Camp and Epworth Camp while they may be kayaking or participating in water skiing or having great fun on the big water slide. Then observe the abundance of bird life on the lake while indulging in lashings of fresh homemade food. You won't be needing a big dinner.
